Mata is on a Speedy Path to Recovery |
With the Premier League season drawing to a close, teams are battling it out for cementing a Top 4 finish but there is a twist in the tale, at least for Manchester United.
Recent blows to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo has left the Red Devils in a major fix. Athough, Juan Mata might just be able to salvage the injury drubbed club despite having previously been ruled out to the end of May.
Mata has not set foot on the
field for the Red Devils since mid march after getting subbed off in a 3-1 win
against Middlesbrough and has already missed United’s last five league games
after undergoing a groin surgery last month.
The Spanish international has
been one of the Red Devils’ most consistent performers throughout the season, but
the injury has kept him out of action for quite some time now.
However, United’s Number 8 might
just be back in time to help his team and manager cope with some of the major
setbacks due to injuries. In his latest blog post, Mata thanked his well wishers
and has hinted on an early return to the pitch after Jose Mourinho had ruled
him out of the remainder of United’s season, stating that the Spain
international would not be fit until “the end of May.”
Mata posted, “As you can imagine,
this month has been a bit too long for me due to my injury… I had never been in
a situation like this before (I’ve been very lucky), but the truth is I’m
feeling much better now and I hope to be back with the team soon, to try to
help in the last spell of the season. I hope so, because that’s all I want:
being always available to help and to contribute as much as I can, both on and
off the pitch. A million thanks for all your messages wishing me a speedy
recovery, I’m getting closer!”
One month left till the curtains are closed on
this season but till then a long gruelling battle is left to be fought to
ensure a Top 4 finish for the club.
